Dare to Dream

posted in: Self Care | 0

We all do it: daydream from time to time about how our lives could be different. Whether we tend to do it during times of stress or more quiet moments, it’s quite natural. In fact, by embracing those daydreams and channeling them, you can be closer to achieving the life you imagine.

The key to developing personal fulfillment and success is to listen to your own voice of wisdom, follow your inner map, and visualize how you want to feel and experience your life.

Follow Your Dreams

Creating The Vision

As you identify your personal vision for happiness, health, and purpose, you can deepen the visualization process. Just like making a clippings file for an upcoming home redecoration, you can begin to piece together each snippet of your overall vision for life, to make the bigger picture. Let your creative mind take it and run with it. Allow yourself to dive in and explore your visualizations; walk around in them in your mind’s eye; try them on.

When you daydream or take time to visualize, ask yourself…

  • Are there patterns or themes that arise again and again? Perhaps they are related to work, personal growth or improvement, relationships, or adventure.
  • What are the most important elements you find in your visualization? Maybe it is a desire to create, build, connect, lead, or offer service.
  • What steps can you take today to bring your visions into goals and your goals into reality?
  • How would it feel to accomplish that goal?

Defining Your Goals

By envisioning yourself enjoying your life, feeling comfortable and vital, you are closer to discovering the life you desire. Visualization can be a powerful tool because it lays the groundwork for defining your goals. Many of us dismiss what we consider to be daydreams because we view them as having little value. But imagine if you began to view those small wandering visions as clues from your inner voice. What would happen if you began using each clue to uncover your inner map and develop a true vision of how you would like your life to be?

If you can imagine a goal for yourself, your inner map can find it. No matter what obstacles may appear to be in the way, there are always resources both inside of you and in the world around you to help you achieve your goals. You need only avail yourself of them as you honor your own truth and path. When you take time on a regular basis to intentionally visualize what you want for your life, things begin to change and fall into place.

Experiencing Your Life

The simple act of visualizing yourself in a content and happy place in life can put a smile on your face and lighten your mood. When you embrace your inner map, you’ll find that your visualization is not as far away from reality as you may think. Dare to dream!
